Hang Up Error

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've just attached a PINE (Rockwell Chipset) Voice modem to My Test PC.

The problem is , it doesnot recognize end of call tone , when we drop the phone line we hear fast busy tone at the end of our message till the message timeout reaches.

Does anyone have any idea about it?

Regards,

If the modem does not recognise the busy tone then the only thing you can do is change your modem - or just get a Dialogic card.

No software has control over modem's ability to detect busy tones etc. there are just no commands that modems have that can be used to adjust the frequencies/cadence etc of the tones for which the modem should be listening.

The only way to get better tone detection out of the modem is to play quieter sound files - the modem can then better hear 'busy' etc. tones over the noise of the sound files played.

tnx for your reply.

let me explain more, I have a 616 analog PBX (panasonic) which is connected to my modem. (Conexant Internal modem) everything is ok, I can transfer lines, record voice messages, use ivr menues, etc...

the only problem is, when a caller hangs up, the modem doesnot hang up. and the line became busy till it times out. (I can hear the fast busy tone generated by pbx at the end of messages.)

I want the modem and vg to detect the fast busy and drop the line then.

tnx for your support,

Regards,

As mentioned before, there is nothing that can be done to alter how well a modem detects busy etc tones during recording...
